Inova Fairfax Staff Treated To Meal By Alexandria's Democracy FCU

Hospital staff received a pizza delivery as a token of gratitude for their work during the COVID-19 pandemic.

FAIRFAX, VA — Inova Fairfax Hospital staff were recently surprised with a lunch delivery from Alexandria-based Democracy Federal Credit Union.

The credit union coordinate the pizza delivery to show support for front-line workers during the COVID-19 pandemic. Mario Mejia, vice president of delivery channels for Democracy FCU, made the large pizza delivery to thank the hospital staff.

Democracy FCU has been involved in other acts of kindness in recent months. Among the efforts were donations to the Capital Area Food Bank and Christ Church, both of which run food assistance programs during the pandemic.

The credit union has also implemented several financial programs to help keep families in their homes and food on their tables. Its CASH-N-GO payday loan alternative allows members to borrow up to $1,000 with no credit check. Members can also participate in the December Skip-A-Pay program whereby they can skip their auto, personal or credit card payments for the month of December. A holiday loan offer for qualifying members through Dec. 31 includes a 2 percent rate drop on rates as low as 8.49 percent APR on $5,000 for up to 24 months.
