La Cuisine To Shut Doors In Old Town Alexandria
The kitchen supply store has been sharing unique products and recipes for 47 years in Old Town Alexandria.

ALEXANDRIA, VA—La Cuisine, a kitchen supply store in Old Town Alexandria, will close its doors at the end of January after 47 years in business. The store is located at 323 Cameron Street across from Alexandria City Hall.
Owner Nancy Pollard will retire, saying in a message to customers, "The Cuisinettes have happily shared 47 wonderful years with you, years filled with unforgettable experiences, and irreplaceable friendships. As all things must eventually come to an end, it is now time for all of us to retire and move forward with new goals."
A member of the Old Town Boutique District, the independent store has become a go-to destination for unique products and a resource for amaeteur and professional cooks alike. Pollard built up the business after studying abroad in Europe, wanting to see hard-to-find European and U.S. products offered in the DC area. Today, that's what customers know La Cuisine for, in addition to its "Cuisinette" recipes shared on a blog, and the occasional appearance of the "guard dog," Pollard's German Shepherd rescue.
