Lady Camellia Tea Room Finds New Life On Alexandria Waterfront

After closing in Georgetown, Lady Camellia debuted on the Alexandria waterfront, offering afternoon tea service.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — Visitors along the Alexandria waterfront now have the option to have afternoon tea with sandwiches and other bites. Lady Camellia, a tea room previously located in Georgetown before closing in 2020, is now open at 229 Strand Street in Alexandria.

Lady Camellia specializes in afternoon tea served with tea sandwiches, scones, croissants and other pastries. Its soft opening is being held Jan. 20 to 29.

The soft opening menu includes different options for afternoon tea service, from the cream tea option priced at $30 to full tea priced at $50 on weekdays. Weekend service is a bottomless afternoon tea with tea sandwiches, scones, croissants, pastries and one tea for $65 per person.

Tea sandwich options include cucumber, egg salad, smoked salmon, chicken salad, and brie and apple. Along with scones and croissants, pasties include teacakes, tartlets, pannacotta and macarons.
