Local Studio Offers a Free Year of Yoga to Vandals
Alexandria, VA March 30, 2015----Local Motion Studio in Alexandria, VA has a unique way of dealing with the vandals who tore down their business sign over the weekend. The company is offering the defacer a year’s worth of free yoga.
“At first I was really very sad about it. We are a young business trying to make our way in a competitive market. This was definitely a set-back from a marketing and financial standpoint,” said Sara Lavan, owner of the studio.
“But then one of our students made a joke that those people could really use some yoga. And, I realized, they were right. “
Although Local Motion Studio also offers dance, sculpt, capoeira, and Pilates, Lavan thought yoga seemed to be the program that could be the most helpful to the people who knocked her sign over. “It helps calm people down, reduces stress and increases levels of compassion,” Lavan explained. “If compassion is what we teach in the studio, I figure we better show it outside of the studio, too.”
