Man Killed In Apparent Alexandria Shooting

Police are investigating the incident as a homicide but have not identified a suspect.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — An Alexandria man died days after an apparent shooting on Wednesday, Oct. 9, police say. The incident is the city's second homicide of 2019.

Police were called to the 300 block of South Reynolds Street around 11:53 p.m. for a reported shooting. Officers found a man with an upper body injury, and he was taken to the hospital.

The man died from his injuries on Friday, Oct. 11. He was identified as De’Shon Jenkins, 21.

Police did not release a suspect description. The investigation is ongoing.
