MD Man Gets 6 Months In Prison, 5 Years Probation For Illegal Filming In Del Ray Bathroom

The man, who worked at a Del Ray bakery and restaurant, was arrested in 2025 and charged with illegal filming.

ALEXANDRIA, VA – A Maryland man convicted of illegal filming in a Del Ray restaurant bathroom was sentenced on Thursday to nearly six months in jail and five years of probation.

Joshua Hombrebueno, 20, of Oxon Hill was charged with three felony counts and nine misdemeanor counts of unlawful image creation after a mother and three-year-old girl discovered a cell phone secretly recording people in an employee bathroom in Del Ray’s Gustave Boulangerie in September 2025. Hombrebueno was an employee of the restaurant.

Police say the camera, concealed inside the vanity of an employee bathroom, held recordings of multiple victims, including adults and children, all recorded without their knowledge while using the restroom.

Hombrebueno pleaded not guilty. He was found guilty on two counts of misdemeanor unlawful filming of a nude person over the age of 18 and sentenced to 179 days in jail with another 179 days suspended. He was also sentenced to five years of probation on the felony count of unlawfully filming a minor.

According to ALX Now, the terms struck on the felony count require that Hombrebueno register as a sex offender, never return to the restaurant and successfully complete five years of probation. Once those tasks are complete, the charge will be reduced to a misdemeanor and the conviction on that count will be entered into his record.
