Metropolitan School of the Arts to Peform La Fille Mal Gard?e

Metropolitan School of the Arts’ (MSA), pre-professional ballet company of Lorton, Va. will perform the comedic, family-friendly spring ballet, La Fille Mal Gardée at two shows, 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., on Sat., Apr. 25 at the George Washington Masonic National Memorial Theater. For tickets, go to www.metropolitanarts.org/tickets.

MSA’s La Fille Mal Gardée is full of surprises with chickens and roosters, and spirited clog dances. The Widow Simone is determined to marry her daughter Lise to Alain, a rich vintner’s son. But Lise is in love with Colas, a lowly farm hand, while Alain only has eyes for his own red umbrella.

“Our spring ballet presents a story of true love with humorous overtones; it’s lively and entertaining, and showcases the abilities of our most accomplished ballet dancers in a performance suitable for all ages,” said Melissa Dobbs, president of Metropolitan School of the Arts in Lorton and Alexandria, Va.
