Looking for Mother’s Day plans? Treat your mom to a Mother’s Day Tea on Sunday at Historic Carlyle House, Carlyle House Historic Park, 121 North Fairfax St. in Old Town Alexandria. The tea includes a tour of Carlyle House, the most historic house in Old Town Alexandria.

Relax in the beautiful garden setting of Magnolia Terrace while learning the “Language of the Fan,” an 18th century popular mode of subtle communication. Experience personalized tableside service and scrumptious food catered by Calling Card Events for an unforgettable day.

Tickets to the event are priced at $30 per person. Please give your preference for the 11 a.m. or 2 p.m. seating times.   • Sunday, May 10 – Free Mother’s Day Open House Friendship Firehouse: Friendship Firehouse Museum, 107 South Alfred Street For this special day, the firehouse photographer will be taking complimentary portraits. Come pose alongside the historic equipment that fought fires in early 19th – century Alexandria. Learn about the suction pumper, and other artifacts such as parade hats and speaking trumpets.
