NAACP Hosting District 8 Congressional Candidates Forum In Alexandria
The civil rights organization says it hopes to connect candidates directly with their potential constituents.
ALEXANDRIA, VA — The NAACP branches of Alexandria, Arlington and Fairfax County are hosting a Congressional candidates forum on July 9 to allow voters to hear directly from the men and women running to represent them in Virginia District 8.
The forum is being organized in partnership with Alexandria’s historic Shiloh Baptist Church and will be held at their location on 1401 Jamieson Avenue in Alexandria from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.
"Our Candidates Forum reflects our longstanding mission to empower our community through nonpartisan civic engagement, ensuring every voter is informed, engaged, and prepared to participate in our democracy," Arlington NAACP Branch President DeLishia A. Davis said in a press release.

The forum is intended to foster dialogue on issues that matter most to District 8 residents, the NAACP said.
All candidates seeking to represent Virginia's 8th Congressional District are encouraged to confirm their participation by contacting NAACP Alexandria Branch President Darrlynn Franklin.
