New Alexandria Officers, Sheriff's Deputies Graduate From Academy
The new law enforcement officers completed 21 weeks of training before their graduation from the Criminal Justice Academy.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — Alexandria is gaining nine new sheriff's deputies and six police officers who graduated from the Northern Virginia Criminal Justice Training Academy last Friday.
The new law enforcement officers are Deputy Ayodeji Ajeigbe, Officer Ariana Bachman, Deputy Shawn Cain, Deputy Patrick Carty, Officer Adam Clements, Deputy Sean Coates, Deputy Isaac Fatzinger, Officer Alexis Garcia, Officer Hossam Hamed, Deputy Jessica Henriquez-Romero, Officer Daniel Kim, Deputy Anthony Morgante, Deputy Nicholas Nemard, Deputy Juan Reyes and Officer Beatriz Riggle. Alexandria Sheriff Dana Lawhorne, Acting Police Chief Don Hayes, and members of the command and training staff attended the graduation ceremony of session 145 at Cornerstone Chapel in Leesburg.
To graduate from the academy, the law enforcement officers completed 21 weeks of training, which includes emergency vehicle operations, firearms training, defensive and control tactics, crash investigation, basic legal training, and other areas. Deputies also completed three additional weeks of training in jail and courthouse procedures.

Several members of the class who will join Alexandria agencies earned special honors at the academy. Fatzinger was named a vice president and had the third-highest score in physical fitness among male recruits. Hamed earning top honors in the emergency vehicle operations course and in firearms, while Reyes had the second-highest score in the emergency vehicle operations course. Master Deputy Vikas Ohri, an Alexandria deputy assigned to the academy, won the Dave Vice Award, an award presented to an outstanding academy instructor.
Graduates will continue training at their respective agencies in Alexandria before beginning their assignments.
