New Mayor, City Council to Take Oath of Office Monday
Special ceremony is planned at T.C. Williams High School.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — The swearing-in of Alexandria’s new mayor and City Council will take place Monday night at T.C. Williams High School in Alexandria. The school is located at 3330 King St. The ceremony is set to begin at 7 p.m.

Mayor-Elect Allison Silberberg and Councilmembers-Elect Willie F. Bailey Sr., John T. Chapman, Redella S. “Del” Pepper, Paul C. Smedberg, Timothy B. Lovain, and Justin M. Wilson will take the oath of office and consider the election of a Vice Mayor. The terms of office for the Mayor and Members of City Council will begin on January 1, 2016, and end on December 31, 2018.

II. Call to Order of the Meeting by the City Clerk and Clerk of Council.
III. Presentation of the Colors by the Combined Alexandria Police, Fire and Sheriff Joint Honor Guard.
IV. Star Spangled Banner solo by Jacqueline Jones.
V. Invocation by Rabbi Brett Isserow of Beth El Hebrew Congregation.
VI. Musical Selection by T.C. Williams High School and John Adams Elementary School Choirs.
VII. Reading of the Statement of Results of November 7, 2014 Election by the Secretary of the Electoral Board Susam B. Kellom (assisted by Donald E. Ledwig and Jack Powers).
VIII. Oath of Office for Mayor Allison Silberberg to given by the Clerk of The Circuit Court Edward Semonian.
IX. Oath of Office Given to Members of City Council Willie F. Bailey, Sr., John Taylor Chapman, Timothy B. Lovain, Redella S. “Del” Pepper, Paul C. Smedberg, and Justin M. Wilson by the Clerk of the Court Edward Semonian.
X. Consideration of the Election of the Vice Mayor.
XI. Remarks by the Mayor, Vice Mayor, and Members of Council.
XII. Remarks by Outgoing Mayor William D. Euille.
XIII. Musical Selection by the T.C. Williams High School Choir.
XIV. Benediction by The Rev. Oran Warder of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church.
