Plans Brewing for a New Starbucks in Alexandria

Everybody loves coffee, especially from a certain Seattle-based chain. There’s a new Starbucks coffee shop in the works for Alexandria’s West End. The coffee shop is part of the Landmark Gateway development.

Starbucks has filed paperwork with the City of Alexandria to add a Starbucks at 5782 Dow Ave. The location at S. Van Dorn Avenue and S. Pickett Street is adajacent to Modera Tempo, a new apartment community at 5760 Dow Ave. Modera Tempo is managed by Mill Creek Residential.

Starbucks will also join a new Smashburger that has opened at the development.

The new apartment community is about a 10-minute walk to the Van Dorn Metro Station (Blue/Yellow lines) and the apartments also say they have a free shuttle to the Metro.

Studios, one-bedroom and two-bedroom homes — totaling at 492 apartments range from $1,600s/month to around $3,300 for two-bedroom plus den apartments.
