A Night For Ukraine Fundraiser Planned On Alexandria Rooftop
A Friday rooftop event in Alexandria will provide support for a nonprofit helping Ukrainian refugees in Poland.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — A fundraiser to help Ukrainian refugees is planned Friday at a rooftop venue in Alexandria.
Above ALX, a new rooftop wedding and event venue at 277 South Washington Street, will host A Night for Ukraine from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday. All proceeds benefit CORE (Community Organized Relief Efforts), a nonprofit helping the immediate needs of Ukrainian refugees in Poland. Kateryna Smagliy, the First Secretary of the Embassy of Ukraine, will be present to give an update about relief efforts.
Since the Russian invasion of Ukraine began on Feb. 24, millions of people have fled to Poland and other surrounding countries. The humanitarian crisis has prompted needs for relief such as food, water, transportation and shelter.
