No Threat Found After Alexandria Public Schools Central Office Secured
The Alexandria City Public Schools Central Office was under secure the building status as police investigated a reported threat.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — The Alexandria City Public Schools Central Office was under secure the building status Friday morning. The building returned to normal status after no active threat was found by the Alexandria Police Department.
According to a letter sent to staff and families, police were investigating a reported threat against an ACPS staff member in the Central Office building. The Central Office building also houses the Alexandria City High School satellite campus.
The secure the building status meant operations continued inside the building, but no one was allowed to enter or leave. The building was secured for approximately 30 minutes before the police investigation concluded.

"We appreciate the support of the APD in investigating this matter," wrote Alicia Hart, the ACPS chief of facilities and operations. "The safety and security of our students and staff are a priority."
