Normal Weekday Service To Return On Alexandria's DASH Bus
DASH will bring back regular weekday services after adjustments due to COVID-related staffing shortages.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — After COVID-related staffing shortages impacted bus service, Alexandria's DASH bus system is ready to bring back regular weekday service. Starting Monday, Feb. 28, normal weekday schedules will resume.
DASH and many workplaces faced staffing shortages as the more-contagious omicron variant spread in late December and January. While COVID-19 cases are now trending down, DASH and other transit agencies still face shortages of staff due to pandemic impacts. DASH will continue to monitor staffing levels and ridership.
"We are excited to resume regular weekday service because it provides greater bus frequency to Alexandria," said DASH General Manager and CEO Josh Baker in a statement. "Thank you to our riders and our community for weathering these challenges with us."

Until regular weekday service resumes, buses are running on enhanced Saturday schedules. Weekend service is not impacted. To see schedules, visit dashbus.com/schedules.
DASH is fare free due to a city budget allocation. Masks continue to be required on buses due to a federal mandate on public transportation.
