NoVA, DC Weather: Frost Advisory Issued For Sunday Morning
As DC, NoVA temperatures drop into the low 30s, the National Weather Service issued a frost advisory for early Sunday; protect your plants.
VIRGINIA ā As temperatures drop overnight, the National Weather Service has issued a frost advisory and a hazardous weather statement for the District of Columbia and parts of Northern Virginia. Tonight, be sure to cover up vulnerable outdoor plants.
The freeze warning and the frost advisory are in effect for the Washington and Baltimore metropolitan areas from 2 a.m. until 10 a.m. Sunday, as overnight lows drop to 33 to 36 degrees.
Frost with temperatures near freezing are possible during the overnight and early morning hours Sunday night through Monday morning. Frost or freeze conditions may kill crops and other
sensitive vegetation, the weather service said.

Areas under the frost advisory include: the District of Columbia, Fairfax, Arlington, Falls Church, Alexandria, Stafford, King George, Prince William, Manassas, Manassas Park, Reston, Herndon, Annandale, Centreville, Chantilly, McLean, Franconia, Falmouth, Dahlgren, Dale City, Manassas, Woodbridge, Lake Ridge, and Montclair.
The hazardous weather outlook is for the Maryland portion of the Chesapeake Bay, Tidal Potomac River, and I-95 corridor through central Maryland, northern Virginia, and District of Columbia.

"Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold. To prevent freezing and possible bursting of outdoor water pipes they should be wrapped, drained, or allowed to drip slowly," the NWS said. "Those that have in-ground sprinkler systems should drain them and cover above-ground pipes to protect them from freezing."
Elsewhere, frost is possible along with temperatures near freezing overnight Sunday into Monday morning. Frost or freeze conditions may kill crops and other sensitive vegetation.

Saturday Night: Areas of frost after 5am. Otherwise, cloudy, then gradually becoming partly cloudy, with a low around 36. East wind 5 to 8 mph becoming calm in the evening.
Sunday: Areas of frost before 9am. Otherwise, sunny, with a high near 61. East wind 3 to 8 mph.
Sunday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 37. East wind around 6 mph becoming light and variable after midnight.
Monday: Areas of frost before 8am. Otherwise, sunny, with a high near 65. Calm wind becoming southwest around 5 mph in the afternoon.
Monday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 41. South wind around 6 mph.
Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 73.
