Officer Struck By Fleeing Driver In Alexandria, 1 Other Officer Injured

Alexandria Police are seeking a suspect who injured two officers when fleeing in a vehicle

ALEXANDRIA, VA — Alexandria Police are seeking a suspect for allegedly hitting an officer with his vehicle and injuring another officer who avoided the crash Monday.

Around 6:18 p.m. Monday, officers responded to the 2400 block of Mandeville Lane for a report of an armed person in a domestic dispute. Police located the suspect in the 200 block of Swamp Fox Road, but he fled the scene in a vehicle.

As the suspect fled in the vehicle, he struck one officer with the vehicle, according to police. Another officer was injured while trying to avoid being struck. Both officers were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. They were treated and released from the hospital.

The suspect, Nnanyereugo Onuoha, is wanted on charges of assault and battery on law enforcement and hit and run, as well as other offenses in other jurisdictions. Onuoha is known to drive a newer model Black Honda Pilot with Maryland tags 1EV8163. The vehicle may have possible damage to the lower molding of the vehicle.
