Who's up for election and where to go to cast your ballot on Tuesday, Nov. 4. Last day to register to vote is today.

On Tuesday, Nov. 4, there will be a General Election for U.S. Senate and U.S. House of Representatives as well as a Proposed Amendment to the Virginia Constitution.

U.S. Sen. Mark Warner (D) is running for reelection against Republican Ed Gillespie and Libertarian Robert Sarvis.

8th District
Democrat Don Beyer and Republican Micah Edmond are running for the open 8th District congressional seat being vacated by Congressman Jim Moran, who is retiring from Congress. He was first elected in 1990.

- The voter registration deadline for this election is today (Tuesday, Oct. 14). You can submit a voter registration application online through Virginia’s Department of Elections website. You can also view and update your voter information at this site. If you would like to submit a paper registration application, you can use the form on the City of Alexandria Voter Registration Information and Application page.
- Absentee voting started Friday, Sept. 19. For more information, including applications, go to the City’s Absentee Voting page.
