Old Town North Development To Include Arts Walk
The condominium development will move MetroStage to a new location and provide space for The Art League.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — The Muse, a future condominium development in Old Town North, has broken ground and will include 73 luxury units and support for the arts. The development by Carr Companies is expected to be ready in late 2021.
Located at 1201 North Royal Street near the Mount Vernon Trail and Potomac River, the development will be comprised of two buildings connected by an enclosed bridge. Units will range from 920 to 2,800 square feet with many featuring dens, outdoor balconies and terraces. Prices will range from the $800,000s to $2.9 million.
Community amenities will include penthouse lounge with an outdoor terrace providing river views, an indoor-outdoor fitness center with a movement room for yoga and personal training sessions, 24-hour staffed front desk, lobby lounge, and library.

The development will support the arts with a few initiatives. An outdoor Arts Walk will feature landscaped open space with seating, lighting, and display space for artists and residents alike. The Alexandria based nonprofit The Art League will occupy much of the first floor while keeping its main headquarters in the Torpedo Factory Art Center.
The address is the current home of MetroStage, a nonprofit theater company. MetroStage's website says a new theater is being constructed at 901 North Fairfax Street. That location is former site of the Crowne Plaza Hotel and future home to condos.
