UPDATE: One Man Dead in Fire Saturday Morning in West End Alexandria
Another man was taken to the hospital with serious burns, fire department says.

The Alexandria Fire Department is investigating an apartment fire Saturday morning at 4754 Kenmore Ave. in West End Alexandria. The structure is a three-story apartment building.
One man died, and another man was taken to the burn unit of Washington Hospital Center with serious burns, according to Alexandria Fire Department Battalion Chief Jeff Merryman. No word on the identity of the person who died.

The call to firefighters came in at 6 a.m. Saturday. The Fire Marshal, Alexandria Police Department and officials from ATF are investigating the fire, Merryman said.
The fire spread from one apartment and has displaced some neighbors, Merryman said. The American Red Cross is on the scene to help find housing for anyone who needs it.

The 4700 block of Kenmore Avenue was closed to traffic but is now open as of 10:30 a.m., Merryman said.
