Pedestrian Dies After Alexandria Crash In Crosswalk

The pedestrian died from his injuries after the weekend crash.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — A pedestrian died following a crash in Alexandria on Saturday, Nov. 16.

The crash happened around 7:35 a.m. at the intersection of Duke Street and Sweeley Street. Police investigations show the pedestrian had been crossing Duke Street in a crosswalk and was struck by a vehicle.

The pedestrian was taken to the hospital, where he died from his injuries. He was identified as John Thompson, 77, of Fairfax County.

The driver remained at the scene of the crash. Police say the investigation is ongoing.
