Pedestrian Killed Crossing Road In Alexandria: Police
Police say the driver stayed on scene after the pedestrian was struck.

ALEXANDRIA, VA—A pedestrian has died after being struck by a car Sunday night in Alexandria, police say.
The crash happened around 7:27 p.m. in the 5000 block of Seminary Road, which is between Interstate 395 and Beauregard Street. The pedestrian had been crossing Seminary Road in the southbound direction when a car struck him in the eastbound lanes. The victim, Josef Holzer, 53, of Alexandria, died at the scene.
The driver stayed on scene to cooperate with officers. The police department's criminal investigations section and crash reconstruction team continue to investigate.
