Pedestrian Hit At Duke Street Intersection In Alexandria: Police

A driver was cited for a crash that injured a pedestrian Sunday on Duke Street, according to Alexandria Police.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — A pedestrian crash on Alexandria's Duke Street led to a citation for the driver Sunday, according to police.

The crash happened at the Duke and Paxton Streets intersection. Around 9:46 a.m. Sunday, police responded to the crash and found a woman who had been struck by a vehicle while within a crosswalk. The pedestrian was taken to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash involved a vehicle heading east on Duke Street. The driver remained on the scene and was cited for failure to yield.
