Pedestrian Killed In Belle Haven Was County's First Pedestrian Fatality Of 2024
A crash on Richmond Highway just south of Alexandria killed one pedestrian who police believe was outside a crosswalk.
BELLE HAVEN, VA — A pedestrian was killed in a crash just south of Alexandria in Belle Haven last week, according to Fairfax County Police. This was Fairfax County's first pedestrian crash death in 2024.
The crash happened after 4 a.m. at Richmond Highway and Belfield Road. According to police, a man was crossing Richmond Highway outside a crosswalk when a northbound 2006 Toyota Camry struck him. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver and passenger remained at the scene of the crash. The pedestrian has not been identified due to pending next-of-kin notification.
