Pedestrian Struck, Killed On 395 In Alexandria: Virginia State Police
A pedestrian was hit on southbound Interstate 395 on Monday, police say. The driver of the vehicle involved called emergency services.
ALEXANDRIA – A pedestrian was killed on southbound Interstate 395 in Alexandria Monday night, Virginia State Police report.
According to Virginia State Police, the fatal crash occurred at around 8:29 p.m. on southbound I-395 north of Duke Street. A trooper found the struck pedestrian on the left shoulder of the highway and, along with a second trooper, attempted life-saving measures, but the victim later died.
The driver of the vehicle that struck the person stopped a short distance away and called emergency services, troopers say. The investigation is ongoing, and the identification of the victim is being withheld pending notification of their next of kin.
