Periwinkle Boutique To Close In Alexandria

ALEXANDRIA, VA — Periwinkle, a women's fashion boutique, will close after 16 years in Old Town Alexandria.

Alexandria Living Magazine first reported the upcoming closing of the 111 S Columbus Street boutique, citing an email to customers from Periwinkle owner Elizabeth Mason. The closing day will be March 6. In the email to customers, Mason thanked them for supporting her vision for over 16 years.

Mason opened Periwinkle in 2005, a "one stop shopping destination" for women, according to the boutique's website. Accessory and apparel offerings range from emerging designers' creations to favorites from well known designers.

Until the closing, Periwinkle is open daily from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. A 50 percent sale is being held with code thankyou50 online. Furniture and other display items are available for purchase; customers can visit and make an offer. Visit the boutique's website at www.periwinkleshop.com.

The 111 S. Columbus Street building where Periwinkle is located has been listed on the real estate market. Redfin lists the property as a pending sale.
