Phone Call Leads To Recovery of Two Stolen Vehicles: Police
Two men charged with grand larceny, credit card theft, say Alexandria police.

ALEXANDRIA, VA -- A tip to the Alexandria Police about someone trying to open car doors led them to recover two stolen vehicles and credit cards, the police announced Wednesday.
At 3 a.m. Sunday, officers responded to a call about a man checking the door handles of vehicles in the Parkfairfax neighborhood near I-395, and they detained the suspect, the department said on its Facebook page.
While investigating the incident, the police said they located two other individuals, along with two stolen credit cards and two stolen vehicles - one in Alexandria, one in Maryland.

The police have charged two men in the case; one of them faces two counts of credit card theft and grand larceny of an auto, and the second is charged with grand larceny and grand larceny of an auto. The police did not release the names or ages of the two suspects, but said they are not city residents.
Additional charges against the two suspects may be pending, the police said.

The two vehicles that were stolen were unlocked, the police said, and the spare key to each vehicle was inside, providing "easy access to thieves."
