Police: Suspect Arrested in 2 Attempted Abductions, Burglaries in Alexandria

Incidents took place Thursday night in Alexandria.

The Alexandria Police Department has arrested a suspect in two attempted abductions and burglaries that took place Thursday night in Alexandria, according to police.

At approximately 9:04 p.m., in the 900 block of N. Patrick Street (see map), a man followed a women into her apartment building and through the building as she rode the elevator, according to police. When she unlocked the door to her apartment, he attempted to push her inside, police said. The victim screamed and the suspect fled, according to police.

At approximately 9:54 p.m., in the 700 block of N. Fayette Street (see map), police said a man approached a woman as she opened her front door and attempted to push her inside her apartment. The victim yelled and the suspect fled, police said.

Officers apprehended the suspect nearby, police said Friday. Marquette Johnson, 34, of no fixed address, was charged with two counts of Attempted Abduction and two counts of Attempted Burglary. He was held without bond.
