Police Investigate Pedestrian Crash at Duke and Telegraph

Pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries.

Alexandria Police are investigating a pedestrian crash that happened in the early hours Thursday at the 2600 block of Duke Street, according to a news release from police.

The area is near entrances and exits for Telegraph Road, near the Alexandria Animal Hospital.

At approximately 1 a.m., police responded to the area for a pedestrian struck by a vehicle. Initial investigation shows a tan four-door vehicle ran onto the sidewalk and struck a passing pedestrian. The driver remained on the scene. The victim was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. 

Members of the Crash Reconstruction Team are investigating the incident. The investigation is ongoing. The victim, a 26-year-old white Hispanic male, is in critical condition.
