An alert was sent out Thursday night at about 6:40 p.m. by police, who were investigating a possible attempted robbery in Alexandria.

ALEXANDRIA, VA -- If you saw a police presence Thursday night at N. Washington and Madison streets in north Old Town Alexandria, police say they were on the scene investigating a possible attempted robbery.
