Police Seek Witnesses To Car-Bicycle Crash

The incident happened on May 5 on Duke Street, say city police.

The Alexandria Police are asking anyone who saw a collision between a car and a bicycle on Duke Street two weeks ago to come forward.

The crash occurred on Thursday, May 5, near the intersection of Duke Street and West Taylor Run Parkway, according to the police.

At about 5:15 p.m., the police responded to the area for the report that a bicyclist was struck by a black vehicle traveling east on Duke Street. The driver remained at the scene, and the victim was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries, the police said.

Members of the Police Department's Crash Reconstruction Team are investigating the incident and seek more witnesses. The police ask that witnesses or people with information regarding this collision contact Officer Erik Nygren at 703.746.6696.
