Politicos React to McDonnells' Guilty Verdicts in Corruption Trial
Gov. Terry McAuliffe, Sen. Mark Warner weigh in Thursday with statements.

Virginia’s politicians are reacting Thursday to the verdicts handed down in the corruption trial of former Gov. Bob McDonnell and wife Maureen. The former Virginia governor and his wife were convicted of numerous corruption charges.
Governor Terry McAuliffe released the following statement following the verdict in the public corruption case against former Governor Bob McDonnell and former First Lady Maureen McDonnell:
“I am deeply saddened by the events of the trial that ended in today’s verdict, and the impact it has had on our Commonwealth’s reputation for honesty and clean government.

Sen. Mark Warner issued the following statement:
“The jury has spoken. This is a sad day for Virginia. I have known and worked with Bob McDonnell for more than 20 years, and my thoughts today are with Bob, Maureen, and their children. I urge all Virginians to keep the McDonnell family in their prayers.”
