Popular Harry Potter Tours Return In Alexandria

Alexandria's Apothecary Museum will host tours about the science behind the Harry Potter wizarding world. The event often sells out.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — A popular Harry Potter-themed tour will return to Alexandria's Stabler-Leadbeater Apothecary Museum for one day. The event has sold out in the past, so get your tickets early.

On Sunday, July 30, the Apothecary Museum will host The Real-World Science Behind Harry Potter tours every half hour between 12 p.m. and 7 p.m. Tickets are $15 per person and can be bought online or by calling 703-746-3852.

The event coincides with the birthday of Harry Potter, the main character of J. K. Rowling's popular series. The Apothecary Museum's guided tour is an hour-long event exploring the apothecary and the real "Muggle" medicines that inspired the Herbology and Potions of Harry Potter’s wizarding world. At the end of the tour, attendees can make their own potion to take home.

Each half-hour tour has a maximum capacity of 10 people. A ticket is required for each attendee. The tour is recommended for ages 8 and older.
