Hosting brewery Port City Brewing will release their favorite brew Schwarzbie a week early exclusively for the festival. The Schwarzbier, a German-style black lager that appears deep brown, has a bittersweet dark chocolate flavor with notes of coffee and toasted malt and a hint of hops. The lager tastes smooth and finishes dry with a hop bitterness, according to the brewery.
Along with the Schwarzbier release, Port City Brewing will offer a brand-new barrel aged offering of their Tidings Ale with the help of Catoctin Creek. The Tidings Ale will be complemented by the barrel-aged flavor of bold honey and rye with a hint of chili pepper heat.
Port City Brewing Company is located at 3950 Wheeler Avenue, Alexandria VA.
