Portside In Old Town Presents Santa Pop-Up Event

UPDATE: Due to rain in the forecast, the event is moved to the Torpedo Factory Art Center main hall. The indoor event will not include s’mores from The Capital Candy Jar or hot chocolate from Dolci Gelati.

ALEXANDRIA, VA—Santa Claus is coming to town during an upcoming Portside in Old Town pop-up event on the Alexandria waterfront. The free Storytime with Santa event will happen Saturday, Dec. 15 from 3 p.m.-4 p.m.

Santa will be on hand for a reading of holiday stories like "’Twas the Night Before Christmas." Penny Post will hold a letters to Santa pop-up, while the Cantamos children’s ensemble will provide holiday musical entertainment.

Visitors can warm up with gourmet giant s’mores from The Capital Candy Jar and hot cocoa from Dolci Gelati’s hot chocolate bar.

Portside in Old Town is a series of free pop-up events in history, art, music and fitness. The series was introduced as Alexandria's new park at the foot of King Street prepares to open. For more on the event series, visit PortsideInOldTown.com.
