Positive Coronavirus Test Rates Up In Some Alexandria ZIP Codes

Although the monthly positive rate overall fell since May, some ZIP codes saw increases since the health department's August analysis.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — The Alexandria Health Department's September analysis of coronavirus data in ZIP codes is out, and some ZIP codes had higher monthly positive rates of tests than the August analysis.

The monthly update looks at new cases, total tests completed, positive rates and confirmed cases and tests per 1,000 Alexandria residents as of Sept. 5. Positive rates by ZIP code are based on new cases and tests completed during that timeframe. ZIP codes with higher positive rates on Sept. 5 than Aug. 5 were 22301, 22302, 22304, 22312 and 22314. The 22305 and 22311 ZIP codes had lower rates on Sept. 5 than Aug. 5. However, positive rates significantly fell for all ZIP codes since the first ZIP code analysis from May 7.
