Resident, Firefighters Hospitalized In Alexandria High Rise Fire

Three people were displaced after a fire broke out on a ninth floor apartment.

ALEXANDRIA, VA—One resident and two firefighters were hospitalized and three residents are displaced after a high rise fire in Alexandria early Thursday.

Firefighters from Alexandria and Fairfax County responded to the two-alarm blaze at Sentinel of Landmark around 2 a.m. The Alexandria Fire Department says the fire started on a ninth floor apartment and extended to the 10th floor. Debris from the fire dropped and started a fire on the first floor balcony of an apartment.

WTOP reported a man and two firefighters were taken to the hospital but is likely not critical. Three people were displaced from the fire, and two relocated on their own.
