Restaurant Eve Could Close In Alexandria: Report

Chef Cathal Armstrong is considering closing the restaurant after 14 years in Alexandria and opening a spinoff in DC.

ALEXANDRIA, VA—Chef Cathal Armstrong is considering closing Restaurant Eve in Old Town Alexandria after 14 years in business. Armstrong expressing a strong desire to "reinvent" the restaurant, Washingtonian reported. That means closing the Alexandria restaurant or moving it to DC.

Armstrong and his Meshelle's Eat Good Food Group are looking at possible locations for a spinoff in DC, including the new Wharf area. The group is opening a Southeastern Asian restaurant named Kaliwa in late February and Potomac Distilling Company at the Wharf.

"It’s at the point where we need to reinvent it [Eve],” Chef Armstrong told Washingtonian. "It’s in the cards that something will happen within the next few months, whether closing or relocating or some sugar daddy comes along and gives us a million dollars—but that scenario isn’t likely."
