Restaurant Eve Spinoff At New Site Teased

Restaurant Eve may be closing its Old Town Alexandria, but Chef Cathal Armstrong and his wife Meshelle plan to open a spinoff elsewhere.

Meshelle Armstrong teased a photo on Instagram of Chef Cathal Armstrong inside the construction site, with a caption reading, "Next chapter - E V E."

For now, the location of Restaurant Eve 2.0 remains unknown. Meshelle Armstrong wouldn't comment on the location to Eater DC but says the effort would continue into 2019.

Named after the couple's oldest daughter, Restaurant Eve will close after June 2 in Alexandria. It had been in business for 14 years. Armstrong's latest Alexandria restaurant Hummingbird opened at the new Hotel Indigo in 2017. There has been no word on changes to his other Alexandria restaurants—the PX cocktail bar and Society Fair.

The closing comes as the Armstrongs' Eat Good Food Group recently opened Kaliwa at The Wharf DC and expect to open Potomac Distilling Company this summer.
