The Rotary Club of Alexandria is pleased to announce that it raised $75,000 at its signature “Taste for Giving” fundraiser on Friday, October 25, 2019. These proceeds will fund more than 35 grants to nonprofit organizations in the Alexandria community that advance literacy for children and adults and/or improve the lives of children, youth, seniors, and others with special needs.

The annual Taste for Giving, held each October in partnership with over 15 of Alexandria’s best restaurants, features excellent food, delicious wine and beer, live music, along with raffles and silent and live auctions in the spectacular atrium of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Building. The ongoing success of the event is due in large part to the dozens of volunteers from the staffs and associates of the local nonprofit grantees.

Rotary President Sharon Meisel reflects, “each year Taste for Giving grows larger and generates more proceeds to help those in need. I am so proud of our Rotary Club members and their commitment to Alexandria. Rotary brings us all together and builds community.”

The Rotary Club of Alexandria, chartered in 1928, has over 110 members who meet weekly at Belle Haven Country Club and live their motto of “service above self” across our Alexandria community and around the world.
