Roy Rogers Roof Collapses In Fire, 20 Businesses Damaged: Reports
Heavy smoke damaged an estimated two dozen businesses in Alexandria, including a Roy Rogers restaurant.
ALEXANDRIA, VA — A six-alarm fire at an Alexandria shopping area heavily damage several businesses and kept firefighters at the site for about 12 hours, according to officials. Fairfax County Fire and Rescue said it received a report of the blaze in the strip of businesses in the 1500 block of Belle View Boulevard just after midnight.
Fire crews found heavy smoke coming from the rear of the building; firefighters stayed at the strip mall until about6 a.m.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation and no damage estimate has been released.

More than 20 businesses were damaged, mostly by smoke, in the Belle View Shopping Center, reports NBC Washington. The fire caused the roof of the Roy Rogers restaurant to collapse, while firefighters cut holes in the roofs of many other stores to release the smoke inside.
At approximately 12:03 a.m., units were dispatched for a fire in a strip shopping center in 1500 block Belle View Boulevard-Belle Haven area. Units arrived to find heavy smoke from rear of building.
