Runoff From Patrick Elementary Site Non-Toxic: Report
The Alexandria Fire Department traced the runoff back to the Patrick Henry Elementary construction site.

ALEXANDRIA, VA—The Alexandria Fire Department has found runoff appearing in the Holmes Run came from Patrick Elementary School's construction site and is non-toxic.
The fire department had received multiple reports of cloudy water in the Holmes Run area on Feb. 15 and 19. According to the city, the water was tested both times and found to be ok. The fire department’s hazmat team went to the site and discovered construction workers were filtering and getting rid of precipitation from the site.

A new Patrick Henry Elementary School is under construction adjacent to the current building. Work began in spring 2017, and the new school is expected to open in late 2018 along with a new recreation center.
