Saturday is National Record Store Day in Alexandria

Support your local Alexandria record store on Saturday and you may find a record that isn't sold anywhere else.

ALEXANDRIA, VA -- National Record Store Day is something music lovers count down the days to all year. The annual event falls on Saturday, April 22 this year and is a rare occasion to check out special items that aren't sold anywhere else--and support local business.

Whether you are a zealous vinyl collector or want a CD to play in your car, log off Amazon and head to your local record store on Saturday. In Alexandria, Crooked Beat Records is getting involved in the National Record Store Day festivities.

Crooked Beat Records, located at 802 N Fairfax St in Old Town, will be opening early at 8 a.m. for frequent customers and 9 a.m. to the public Saturday. The first 75 customers that make a purchase will receive swag and a Crooked Beat tote bag.

In addition the store has a long list of special releases for Record Store Day. The store has thousands of items to parse through, and local musicians will be playing throughout the day. The store is open until 8 p.m. For more information, visit Crooked Beat's website.
