Snow: What's Open, Closed, Delayed in Alexandria

The Northern Virginia area finally got some of the much-talked about snow. Here’s a look at what’s open, closed or delayed in Alexandria Tuesday:

  • Schools: There is a two-hour delay for Alexandria City Schools: www.acps.k12.va.us/emergency
  • City government offices and facilities will be open as scheduled on Tuesday, January 27, with unscheduled leave permitted for non-emergency staff. For any updates, see www.alexandriava.gov.

  • Check road conditions via VDOT here.
  • City crews have completed treatment of primary routes and anticipate completing secondary routes prior to the morning rush hour, before completing residential routes. For more information about City snow control priorities, see www.alexandriava.gov/Snow.
  • DASH is currently operating on a REGULAR weekday schedule for Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2015. DASH will run extra trips, as needed, on the AT2X, AT3 and AT4 routes until approximately 11:00 a.m. Please be advised that as weather or road conditions change, you will be notified of any changes to DASH service. Please continue to check our website, Twitter and Facebook for service announcements as they occur, and allow for extra time on your commute due to potential, minor delays with road conditions.DASH would like to remind you to please travel safely during inclement weather.   • Metro is operating on a normal schedule but check for any specific area alerts here.
