Spring Arts in Old Town Alexandria
International artist Vian Borchert will have a number of her latest abstract art and seascapes at the Spring group exhibit at Kyo Gallery.

“…and then, I have nature and art and poetry, and if that is not enough, what is enough?”
~ Vincent van Gogh
Van Gogh had a feel towards nature like no other. To paint nature he went out and immersed himself in the wind, in the earth, in the sun and in the clouds. He took it all in! He intensely aimed to capture all of nature's glory and its beauty from the blossoming trees to the heat waves of the sun to the woods, to the breeze through the leaves and the birds flying away. Van Gogh understood to be a good artist you have to be one with nature. You have to study nature and learn to appreciate mother earth for she is our best teacher.

Spring turning slowly into Summer in the DMV area. The fresh breeze of the Potomac river plays wonderfully in old town Alexandria's waterfront with its new park expansion and whimsical, colorful, and playful art installation that brings a smile to all who walk by its side. The interactive art installation lights up the waterfront and adds much fun for an enjoyable stroll by the water. The arts in old town light up the city in a lovely way. On Patrick street the international gallery, "Kyo Gallery" has a great Spring group exhibit in the making. This Friday May 10 is the opening reception of "Transformation" a group exhibit that starts tomorrow evening 5/10 and lasts till the end of June.
"Sunrise" pictured here in the article is one of many paintings by V. Borchert that are on exhibit at Kyo.
