Spring2Action Giving For Alexandria Nonprofits Surpasses $2.9 Million
As donations continue to pour in for nonprofits, additional Spring2Action prizes are being awarded to some nonprofits.
ALEXANDRIA, VA — Donations are continuing to come in after Spring2Action, Alexandria's day of giving on Wednesday. Numbers are not final, but total fundraising surpassed $2.9 million as of noon Thursday.
Spring2Action is Alexandria's annual day of giving organized by ACT for Alexandria. There were 188 local nonprofits receiving donations from 7,484 donors, as of noon Thursday.
"From the tireless efforts of the nonprofit staff to the generous contributions of our sponsors, partners, and thousands of donors, this event wouldn't have been possible without your support," ACT for Alexandria shared as Spring2Action ended. "Let's continue to work together to make our community a better place!"

Overall, the organizations with the most fundraised were:
1. Move2Learn | Powered by RunningBrooke: $152,286 through 158 donors
2. Carpenter's Shelter: $150,614 through 277 donors
3. Casa Chirilagua: $89,860 through 271 donors
4. ALIVE!: $81,904 through 355 donors
5. Alexandria Tutoring Consortium: $79,715 through 208 donors

In addition to receiving donations from the community, nonprofits had the incentive to earn additional prizes. Prizes have been awarded to organizations receiving the most donors in three categories based on the size of their operating budget. Nonprofits could also win prizes by having the most "early bird" donations or "power hour" donations at certain times. Additional prizes were given to randomly-selected organizations.

2. Alexandria Singers: $750 grant
3. Alexandria Harmonizers, Inc.: $500 grant
4. Alexandria Tutoring Consortium: $250 grant
5. George Washington Middle School PTA: $100 grant
Most Donors-Medium ($500K-$1M budget)
1. Casa Chirilagua: $1,500 grant
2. Center for Alexandria's Children: $750 grant
3. Nueva Vida (New Life): $500 grant
4. Alexandria Seaport Foundation: $250 grant
5. Operation Paws for Homes: $100 grant
Most Donors-Large ($1M+ budget)
1. Alexandria Soccer Association: $1,500 grant
2. ALIVE!: $750 grant
3. Carpenter's Shelter: $500 grant
4. Housing Alexandria: $250 grant
