Suspicious Package Resolved At National Science Foundation
The building in Alexandria was evacuated as federal authorities investigated a suspicious package.

ALEXANDRIA, VA—Federal Protective Service investigated a suspicious package at the National Science Foundation Friday morning. As of 10:37 p.m., authorities say the package has been cleared and the scene is safe.
The building was evacuated as authorities investigated. No injuries have been reported.
Local police and fire assisted on scene. Alexandria Police closed Eisenhower Avenue from Mill Road to Stovall Street during the investigation. Drivers should avoid the area.
