Popular Taqueria La Tingeria Planned Inside Alexandria's Port City Brewing Company
Alexandria's Port City Brewing Company will partner with a restaurant for a permanent presence for the first time.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — Alexandria-based Port City Brewing Company has brought rotating food trucks to provide food for guests, but it will now have a permanent restaurant vendor for the first time.
La Tingeria, a Northern Virginia taquería led by Chef David Peña, will open its third location at Port City Brewing Company (3950 Wheeler Ave, Alexandria, VA). This will be the brewing company's first permanent partnership with a restaurant. The expected opening is October.
"Our customers have been asking for more consistent food options," said Bill Butcher, founder of Port City Brewing Company, in a news release. "We are delighted to partner with David and his team at La Tingeria. Their menu is both authentic and unique, and the quality is top notch. Of course, tacos and craft beer are a natural pairing."

La Tingeria, with locations in Falls Church and Spotsylvania County, has won praise from The Washington Post’s Tim Carman and made Washingtonian’s 100 Best Restaurants list for two consecutive years. La Tingeria's menu at Port City will feature signature items like the goat and beef birria tacos and chicken tinga tacos as well as lamb burger sliders and Sonoran hot dogs wrapped in halal beef bacon.
"It was an honor that Bill and Karen Butcher chose us, La Tingeria, to lease out their new restaurant space," said Peña. "I’m excited to develop new dishes and take our guests on a journey of my life through my art and food."
