These 2 Alexandria Restaurants Are Making Some Of The Region's Best BBQ

Eater's new survey of the Washington Metropolitan Area's barbecue joints name-checked 2 Alexandria eateries.

ALEXANDRIA, VA – Two Alexandria restaurants made Eater’s latest list of the best barbecue in the Washington, DC, area.

With Independence Day coming up (and America’s 250th birthday, no less), Eater took a look at the area’s offerings for that traditional Fourth of July feast: smoked, grilled and marinated meats.

Smoking Kow

This roaming food truck has already been crowned the best barbecue in Alexandria, best barbecue in Virginia and best food truck in DC, so they probably need no introduction. Their menu features pulled pork and chicken, ribs, brisket, and other classics. Eater highlights their Mac n’ Meat combo of cheesy pasta and a choice of meat as not to be missed.

Hi/Fi Tex Mex BBQ

The Washington Post called Hi/Fi’s barbecue “truly terrific.” This Del Ray restaurant, with a second location in Fairfax, offers Texas and North Carolina-style slow-cooked meats, offered as platters as well as tacos, enchiladas and more from the "Mex" side of the name. The Del Ray location also has a beer garden.
