Tickets Released For Popular Alexandria Easter Egg Hunt

It's never too early to get tickets for the Lee-Fendall House Easter Egg Hunt, given that it's known for selling out.

ALEXANDRIA, VA—Easter may be a few months away, but in the case of egg hunts, the early bird really does get the worm. The popular Lee-Fendall House Egg Hunt has released tickets for its 19th annual Easter Egg Hunt from March 30-April 1. Given how it sold out in 2017 and other years, getting tickets early will secure your children's spots.

Every year, the historic home invites children to hunt for eggs filled with toys in the gardens and meet the Easter Bunny. The egg hunt is limited to kids 10 and under, but anyone else is welcome to enjoy games, prizes, crafts, refreshments, Easter bunny photos and more. All participating children receive at least one egg. Participants should bring their own Easter baskets.

Tickets are available different times on three days that Easter weekend:

Here are some answers to the frequently asked questions.

What time does the egg hunt start?

The gate will open to admit participants at the start time listed for each program. The egg hunt will begin within 15 minutes of the gate opening. Please allow yourself ample time for travel and parking to arrive on time.

How long is the Easter Egg Hunt?

Each Easter Egg Hunt lasts 90 minutes and includes several activities:

  • The egg hunt will begin within 15 minutes of the listed gate time. The egg hunt lasts until all eggs in the garden are found.
  • A variety of craft activities will be available on the porch during the entire program.
  • Games will be available during the entire program.
  • The Easter Bunny will be available for pictures as soon as the egg hunt is over.

Is there an admission cost for infants?

Children under 1 year old are admitted free with an advance ticket. Please note there is limited space for strollers.

Due to the overwhelming positive response to our free admission policy for infants during our Advance Ticket sales, we will not offer free admission at the gate to infants with families that did not purchase advance tickets. Families that did not purchase advance tickets will be charged the full child admission rate for infants.

I purchased a ticket for my child to attend the Easter Egg Hunt. Do I need to purchase a ticket for myself?

All children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult, so if you plan on attending the program with your child you need to purchase a ticket. You can enjoy snacks, stickers, tattoos, and photos with the Easter Bunny!

Can I change my tickets to a different date and time after purchasing them?

We may be able to accommodate requests of this nature depending on when the request is made. If you wish to switch to a program time that is already sold out, we will be unable to accommodate your request. We are unlikely to be able to honor requests made the week prior to the Easter Egg Hunt.

My family purchased tickets in advance, but we are unable to attend. Can we give our tickets to a friend?

Tickets may not be transferred to another party.

My family would like to attend the Easter Egg Hunt, but the program time we want to attend is sold out. Can we still attend?

In the event of no-shows by advance ticket holders, their spaces will be sold at the gate on a first-come-first-serve basis for that program only. We are unable to place people on a waiting list or will-call list. We cannot guarantee that tickets will be available at the gate.

Do you have separate sections for children of different ages during the Easter Egg Hunt?

We do not have separate areas for children of different areas, but we do give younger children a head start during the Easter Egg Hunt. We also line children up on the starting line from youngest to oldest, with the youngest closest to the Easter eggs.
